This week WMC hosts several international trade teams. IGP, our partner lab in Kansas is here with a group from Vietnam sponsored by the USDA FAS Vietnam Cochran Fellowship program. SPC Samlip, a South Korean based food company, is here later in the week with former WMC technical Director Gary Hou. Our colleagues at USW join us on Friday with a team from Japan to survey crop quality and discuss additional technical questions. The lab services team is busy processing and testing the second week of crop quality samples from the PNW. Visiting Scholar Shikhadri Mahanta wraps up her research this week to understand the effects of a novel technology called Atmospheric Cold Plasma on soft and hard wheat flours in preparation for her presentation and final report next Monday. Mike and Brent meet with USW and Oregon Department of Agriculture on plans for the Taiwan Wheat Delegation Reception in September.
