Brent Martin, elected to the Oregon Wheat Commission in 2024, is now serving his second term with both the Commission and the Wheat Marketing Center. As a third generation Eastern Oregon wheat farmer, he manages more than 4,700 acres of dryland wheat and carries forward a family tradition deeply rooted in the region.
His leadership in the industry began long before his Commission role. Brent spent seven years as county president for the Oregon Wheat Growers League, served on the Morrow County Grain Growers board, and has dedicated over 20 years as a volunteer firefighter—reflecting his commitment to both agriculture and community.
Before returning to the farm, Brent built a career in aviation. He earned his Airframe and Powerplant license, worked as an aircraft mechanic for more than a decade, and completed a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. In 2004, Brent and his wife Jill moved back home with their daughter Eva to take over the family farm, blending his technical background with a lifelong passion for agriculture.
