Wheat Marketing Center Staff / Mike Moran, Executive Director
Mike Moran joined the team as the new Executive Director of the Wheat Marketing Center in Portland Oregon in April of 2022. Mike’s work prior to the Wheat Marketing Center includes managing a farmer-owned wheat flour company marketed under the Shepherd’s Grain brand, production for Grand Central Baking in Portland and Seattle, and directing procurement strategies for Oregon Food Bank. His work included participating in the PNW Wheat Quality Council, legislative proposals to support farmers & address food insecurity, plus a previous customer of Wheat Marketing Center.
Mike served on the boards of several non-profits including the Bread Baker’s Guild of America and Portland Farmers Market, as well as serving on advisory boards to the Northwest Food Processors Association and Feeding America.
Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree in community development from Portland State University, and continues to pursue strategies to increase sustainability in agriculture and the support the Quality of U.S. farmers.
