This week the Wheat Quality Council hosts the annual Hard Winter Wheat Tour starting in Manhattan, Kansas. This annual event brings together dozens of volunteers from the agricultural and food industry to survey the progress of this year’s winter wheat crop, taking measurements of hundreds of fields to estimate the yield for the coming harvest. This estimate is watched closely by buyers and traders of wheat around the world. Participants also have the opportunity to learn about the factors that affect yield and quality while networking with colleagues and new faces from across the industry.
