This week Technical Director Dr. Jayne Bock and Operations Manager Liman Liu travel to Boise, Idaho to attend the Pacific Northwest Wheat Quality Council Collaborative Testing Program meeting in conjunction with the Pacific Northwest Section of the Cereals & Grains. This non-profit group first convened in 1995 and meets annually to evaluate advanced generation wheat breeding lines submitted by public and private breeding programs. Wheat Marketing Center is one of the volunteer collaborators who test and evaluate submitted samples for wheat, flour, and product quality. This work is fundamental in ensuring that the wheat grown in the Pacific Northwest continues to be the highest quality available to customers worldwide.
