The week begins with a Monday morning meeting of the WMC Board Human Resources Committee. Later that day, the Oregon Wheat Commission will bring representatives from Oregon State University and the Oregon Department of Agriculture come and tour WMC. On Tuesday, the USDA Agricultural Marketing Services will visit WMC. The purpose of this tour is to learn the science behind wheat and wheat products, our partnership with FGIS, and our impact on the industry. At the end of the week, we host the Korean Crop Survey Team sponsored by US Wheat Associates. South Korea imports an average of 1.4 million metric tons of U.S. wheat, making them a significant and valued trade partner for U.S. grown wheat, all moving through the Port of Portland.
